Featured Work
Adelaide Fringe Festival
The Adelaide Fringe Festival is an arts institution for South Australia, particularly for it being the largest arts event in the Southern Hemisphere. Iugo was extremely excited to be working with the crew to do the web development side for the 2012 festival.
The brief was to build something unique & flexible – something that would be able to be used throughout the year and also morph & adapt when it came time for the actual festival. Through much discussion and strategy, Iugo & the Fringe developed a system that is highly flexible and can be changed dramatically by the Fringe staff.
The other primary aim of the project was to better integrate with the ticketing system and to share information between the two environments in a seamless way. This has been accomplished using some pretty complex methods which results in a great user experience for users of the site.
Iugo is also very proud to be a support of the Adelaide Fringe for 2012 with a special to-be-released web app launching late 2011.

Hop Aboard mobile website
We at Iugo were very interested in developing a project all of our own. Something we can design, develop and launch which is Iugo’s and we can be proud of.
With the advent of Adelaide Metro releasing the timetable data to developers everywhere, and given we’re very much an Adelaided-based company and many of us use public transport considerably, we decided that’d be a perfect opportunity to showcase our skills in mobile development and release it to the general public free-of-charge. So over the past 4 months or so, we’ve storyboarded, designed and now developed Hop Aboard – a website designed specifically for the mobile browser.
It’s quick, it’s minimal and it gives you the information you need – when will the bus/train/tram be at your stop next and how long your journey to your destination will take. Try it out for yourself!
The features: Users can search for bus, train and tram routes throughout Adelaide; see the stops; create their own timetable based on their get on/get off stops and save them to their favourites for future use. Next time you open the website, the times for your favourite routes will appear and how long before they reach your get on stop!
The technology used: developed using Google’s GTFS data provided by Adelaide Metro; HTML5; CSS3; AJAX; JQuery; PHP; Sqlite & Smarty Tempate Engine. The HTML5 complies with web standards and as such, can be viewed on both mobile and desktop versions of browsers (some functions are limited depending on the browser).
The result: a customisable, fully-functioning Adelaide-based public transport timetable system that will work on mobile browsers such as Safari; Chrome; Opera and IE where users can quickly see timetables for a particular route and then favourite them for later viewing.
Business SA website
Business SA, formerly known as the South Australian Employer’s Chamber of Commerce & Industry, is the voice of business and industry in South Australia.
Being one of SA’s largest tender offers in late 2008, Iugo won the tender in conjunction with Clemenger BBDO in Adelaide. After 6 months of requirements gathering, near on a year to develop and we’re super-pleased with the outcome, as is the client more importantly.
With Business SA having such a diverse offering of services, products and catering to such a wide audience, structuring a new website to best be able to speak directly with its members was an enormous task.
Iugo and the team @ Business SA worked on how it could be constructed, what the strategy would be and came up with how it would come together.
A significant amount of custom work was done to cater to Business SA’s needs, particularly with the sharing of information with Business SA’s CRM, accounting package and chosen e-commerce gateway.
The end result is a new site with a very simple, yet powerful administration area to manage the content throughout. The CMS of choice was Recite CMS due to its ease of use, proven capabilities of handling large scale websites and flexibility to incorporate 3rd party integration.
Members and non-members can now book training courses online, get assistance with the latest Awards & Wages along with purchase their very useful publications online.
Come Out Festival website

The Come Out Festival is a South Australian institution for youth festivals since 1975. If you grew up anytime after that in South Australia, there’s a high chance you might have had a school excursion to one of the many performances in and around Adelaide.
With the design done by Elk Creative, the combined efforts of the team from Come Out, Elk Creative and Iugo have formed the basis for the 2011 Festival site which displays information regarding the festival itself such as the program, targeted information for the various audiences and the important role the sponsors play and various other information. All this using Recite as the Content Management System CMS.
It also allows Come Out’s target audience, such as kids; teachers; parents and so-on to sign-up to the e-Newsletter list to be notified when things are coming up and to be kept informed throughout. This makes use of Iugo’s e-Newsletter Mailout system.
Iugo is very proud to be an Associate Partner of the Come Out Festival.
Adelaide Airport website
Adelaide Airport Limited (AAL) via Chris McArdle (19EightyNine) asked Iugo to implement a new content management system (CMS) for their website using the newly formed structure, strategy and design provided by 19EightyNine.
The collaborative effort resulted in Adelaide Airport having a new dynamic website built with the help of Recite CMS as the underlying technology/management system.
Some of the features implemented for the AAL site are:
- content management throughout the site
- automatic importing of flight information data
- integration with currency converters / weather / webcams and so-on
There’s a number of features to come with further integration of internal systems and so-on.
Jacob’s Creek extranet
Jacob’s Creek is the world’s most distributed wine brand – currently being exported to over 60 countries worldwide.
With that many countries and with a large number of distributors for each of those countries – the challenge for Orlando Wines was to come up with an architecture where they could communicate effectively with so many stakeholders.
A collaborative effort between Orlando Wines, Triplezero and Iugo lead to the project of building an extranet where distributors can login and discover the information needed to help distribute the brand.
With a project of a sensitive nature such as this, obviously we can’t delve into too many details. Suffice to say, the system is built using Recite CMS; implements web services for data sharing; various levels of user authentication and employs a number of measurement capabilities to ensure that the project’s KPIs are met.
Featured Video
As part of our sponsorship of Adelaide Fringe 2012, Iugo built a web-based live bus tracking version of Hop Aboard where Fringe-goers could see in real-time where the 2 Adelaide Fringe buses were on the 7-stop route. The web app was very well received and hope to use it on a number of new projects in the near future.
You can see a simulation of Hop Aboard Live here.
